WHY ATTEND THIS EVENT Aims and Objectives

The East Africa Social Work Regional Resource Centre represents a new and exciting network of Schools of social work and educators across African countries such as Uganda, Kenya Tanzania, Burundi and others. The initial focus is on the East Africa region.

Promote the standardization of social work education among social work institutions in East Africa.

The East Africa Social Work Regional Resource Centre

Welcome to the East Africa Social Work Regional Resource Centre. We seek to create new opportunities to collaborate in social work education, research and practice on various regional and global challenges and promote the regional professional profile of social workers and researchers.

Reflecting on regional priorities, the East Africa Social Work Regional Resource Centre will spear head and coordinate capacity building initiatives to strengthen professional social work education and research in the region. Makerere University will work collaboratively with the Association of schools of social work in Africa on this journey. 

We are also committed to facilitating enhanced connectivity between the International Association of Schools of Social Work and social workers in the Africa Region.
